We
put our house of eleven years on the market in preparation for our trip.
We have been talking about it for months, but seeing the sign get put in the
yard was a bit uncomfortable. We remembered the people who are part of
this house, some of whom have passed on; the blood, sweat and tears (mostly
Jon’s); and the scripture written on the framing, reminding us the intent
of this house was to serve the Lord by loving our neighbors. So, with that reminder, we soberly loosen
our grip on the things on earth for treasures in Heaven. And we have faith that God will
not disappoint.
After
four days on the market we had two offers. We accepted the better offer (shocker),
but they backed out. We were a mixture of disappointed, angry, and
deflated…which led to ordering pizza, having a beer, and watching Elf because
as Buddy would say, “Does someone need a hug?”
Sounds exciting yet a little scary. I'm sure it will all work out and it will be a wonderful adventure. Hugs to you.
