Earlier this
week, I read John 4:4-26. Here Jesus
tells the woman He meets at the well that “whoever drinks the water I give them
will never thirst,” and later, when she acknowledges that Messiah is coming, He
replies, “I am He.” These three words, I
AM HE, have echoed through my mind this week as we have sold our house (yes,
it’s true…we are just waiting on the results of the appraisal!); have provisions
for Jon’s diabetic medications for the entire six months; have been blessed by the
formation of a prayer group just for Ellie; received financial support from family
and friends; and were touched by Jon’s siblings who forsook the giving of
Christmas gifts to each other to give all their gifts to us. And all these “big things” to
us are, in reality, small things for the One who spoke the world into existence
and whose footstool is the world.
